In which we take a short break from writing jail

... to report that we still don't like writing. We admit to procrastinating on the task due to its difficulty and impossibility to get a perfect result. We suspect that we are still not good enough at inserting enough big white fluffy cloud words, and we hate the need to disclose our multiple personalities in a big royal we. We are definitely not looking forward to the locked up lovely weekend filled with an intense fight against procrastination writing.

It makes me feel so much better to know that other people don't like writing either. It helps me know that I'm not doomed to be a PhD technician (at least not just because writing isn't my favorite task). I like having written something, but doing it sucks.

Good luck. You'll be so proud when you're done.

Jennie et. al. - thanks ;)

EGF - I too like to look at a perfectly type-set finished product with beautiful figures and well-formed paragraphs and sections, but getting there is tough.

Good luck! I hate writing anything, so I think when I first start writing my paper I think I will need a legion of whip bearers standing over my shoulder. And maybe a cookie after each successful page...

Ok, maybe after each paragraph.

Hermitage - how about a cookie for each time you rewrite each paragraph? (By the time I get closer to done, none of my paragraphs look anything like the first draft).

During my thesis writing I rewarded myself with one square of chocolate per completed paragraph. You can tell which parts I found thte hardest, because they have the shortest paragraphs...

Mmm, chocolate. I bet that would be a good incentive for me, too :)
