I can smell the cinnamon

So I was overly optimistic when thinking I could run with this cold. Apparently, I have let my body get run down enough (lack of sleep being the major repeat offender) to make this a 5-year cold (it would have been a 10-year cold except I had pneumonia 10 years ago, which was definitely worse). So, no running for me. I was just barely able to make it to work on all of the work days (completely out of it and only marginally productive, but still a warm body, I guess), and crashed in bed the rest of the time (unconscious is a better description for my state than sleep, and no, I wasn't even capable of watching TV, so it seems like a million things happened in the world while I was out!).

But today, I was able to smell the cinnamon in the breakfast my husband made for me - so I guess I am getting better! Here's to hoping February will be a much more productive month with a lot more running!

Glad you're on the mend. I hope it continues.

I hope that you continue to feel better. Not only so you can get back to running.

EGF - thanks! Today I feel even better than yesterday, so I am hopeful! Although I never know how long the cough will linger...

Amanda - thank you! And yes, feeling like a normal person is useful for so much more than just running ;) I was actually pretty productive today, which is good as I am feeling quite behind on things.

Yeah to a sense of smell! Running sometimes makes me feel like my cold is chased away. Sometimes it makes me feel worse.

I definitely have a new appreciation for my sense of smell, taste, and feeling better in general. I will try running again soon; we'll see how it goes!

Being sick knocks me out of running for about 2 weeks usually. I always try to go back too early and end up prolonging my illness...and the run is never a good one!

Hope you continue to feel better!

Albatross - thanks! I am still not sure how to decide when to get back to running, but I feel significantly better, so I might try soon.
