My second race for the year is completed. I ran a biathlon with a labmate; I did two 5km runs and he biked 12 miles between them. It was a lot of fun, and we both got the times we hoped to get. We got 2nd place in our category (now, granted it was a local run and an obscure category, but still :) This is, in fact, my first-ever trophy :)
I have forgotten how calm and beautiful the lake can be on an early morning; the last time I was out at any lake at 7am was ... the last time I've gone fishing. I should go again soon!

congratulations!! after bailing on my 1st half mara for the year, i ran a 10K this weekend....no where near as much fun as what you did :)

PhizzleDizzle - the biking labmate said he would swim if we find someone else to bike. As far as doing one by myself, I would first have to get a road bike (I have never had one although I love my mountain bike!) and ... learn how to swim 10x faster (I am very comfortable in water but never learned the proper technique). But its definitely something to think about!
