I've always been the shortest kid in the class. Younger than my classmates and, as it turned out, a late bloomer, I have always been shorter than everyone around me, used to having to look up to people.
Fast-forward 10+ years. I am now average height, and, as I was talking to a committee member of mine, I realized that I was actually taller than him. I think I haven't noticed it before because I tend to hunch when I am intimidated. But, as I stood up straight, I realized that not only I have grown out of being the shortest kid in the class, I may be growing out of hunching as well.

Way to stand tall and proud! I'm not sure what it is about academics, but it seems like there is a selection for short people. I know I tower over others. I'm going to post about this to see if others have noticed this "short people thing," too.
I was average height growing up, and I'm average height (5'7) now. I blend in almost everywhere, and most clothes are the right length, which is great!
I swear I kept growing until I was like 22 though. Surely that's not normal.
Cath - I think I kept growing through college also. Not that that would make it normal ;)
I hope I grow out of hunching too! Lab benches and crappy desks don't help!
Albatross - being as tall as you are, do you find yourself hunching to be closer to other people's level?
