Hello, new city!

Things I am looking forward to:
  • Amazing climate with no allergies (fingers crossed!);
  • Proximity to some of my favorite locations in the world;
  • Proximity to many good friends;
  • A grown-up work environment (does this mean I am ready to grow up?).
Things I am dreading:
  • Renting. Although first we need to find a place.
  • Unpacking. But that should be over soon, right?

Welcome!
Good luck finding a place to rent and a good landlord.

The threat of unpacking (and packing) is enough to keep me in one place for a long time. But I'm glad that you're pleased with your mystery location! No allergies! I'm jealous. Very.

Jennie - thanks! I think we have a lead on a place that should work for us.

Amanda - we would have had to move out of grad school city sooner or later, so I guess now works. I have never lived in this location in Spring, but haven't had any problems here in the other seasons, which is a great improvement over grad school city where I seem to have problems almost year around.

EGF - thanks! It is a bit hectic since we are trying to settle and already working, but I hope in a few weekends we will get to some normality.

Do the unpacking right away so it is quick and painless. I still have boxes from my old office to be moved to my 'new' office!

Hope you find a place soon!

Jewels - thanks, that is a tough task; I think we've decided we were more price conscious than quality conscious.

Albatross - we are downgrading significantly in the amount of space, so we will also have to figure out an efficient organization system. But yes, I am so ready for the unpacking to be over even though we haven't even started yet!

Hi Sciencegirl. Good luck. Especially on the packing. I moved 3 years ago, and am sad to say, there are still unpacked boxes :-(

Hi, Makita, and thanks - it is quite a task. In your case, it probably just means you don't really need anything that is in those boxes ;) I am still waiting to see if any of my boxes are not really needed either ;)
