The pulse of the neighborhood

Fresh morning air. The sun is just starting to rise, making the birds sing as loud as they can, and waking up the fuzzy critters who busy themselves with finding breakfast. A handful of people are out and about too: some getting to work, others walking their dogs, young parents out for a stroll with their babies, old couples walking hand in hand. I am enjoying the power of my body, running and breathing in the fresh morning air with all my might, feeling so alive. Knowing that we are all here to break away from our worries, and to just enjoy the sun, the air, and the smells and sounds of nature. To take in the beauty of our neighborhood before it gets lost in a rush. To acknowledge that we are alive, and this life is oh so precious.

Hey, I also went for a morning run. I like what you wrote here.

That sounds nice.

Can you run for me too?

Mmmmm, that sounds like a great start to the day. Maybe one day I too will be able to run while thinking something other than "this sucks, maybe I should just turn around and go home"

Jennie - thanks, I hope you enjoyed your run!

EGF - wouldn't you like to enjoy it for yourself ;) You'd be surprised how quickly your runs can go from a chore to "me time."

Cath - I am sorry you are not enjoying your runs yet; I find that the more frequently I run, the more likely I am to enjoy it.
