I am a networking machine, I tell you. I saw a potential user for my work at a social event (as in, recognized his picture from his web-page), took a deep breath, and went for it. Result? A half-hour conversation with the researcher, and future collaboration. I can't take full credit for this as my Research Advisor has already mentioned my work and my name to said researcher (R.A. is good at that, which I truly appreciate), but I do take credit for selling my work as something the researcher should look into ASAP. We are now trying to set up a meeting between the researcher's team, R.A. and me (tricky since most of these people travel a lot, but hopefully not impossible).
Ok, so I may be a little smitten about this one :)
