I am going to go ahead and shamelessly borrow the naming convention from EcoGeoFemme, and refer to my 2 current bosses as an Academic Advisor (back in grad school state) and Research Advisor (local to my current place of work).
The funny thing is that my 2 bosses have never met in person. I have observed them in teleconferences and over email, and they seem very courteous to each other. I wonder if they have spoken/emailed without me knowing, and if so, what they say about me when I am not there.
I also wonder what they will think of each other when they do meet in person, over a year after I first made them communicate.

Well, it's not a very imaginative naming convention, so I'm not sure you can really say you've borrowed it from me. :)
That is kind of an odd situation, and I think I would wonder the same thing. Good for you for initiating a new collaboration, though! I always feel kind of proud when I instigate a new professional relationship.
I am glad you don't mind, I've been thinking about it for awhile and couldn't come up with a more fitting convention :)
I too feel proud of myself for daring to approach people and catching their interest. We'll see how this plays out!
