2010: The Year of the Little One

Personal resolutions:
  1. Learn how to take care of our Little One when the Little One arrives;
  2. Slow down and take the time to enjoy life a little more as we go along;
  3. Enjoy time with the Little One;
  4. Make time for Hubby and I;
  5. Make time for myself.
Professional resolutions:
  1. Don't feel bad about taking maternity leave;
  2. Continue working on my thesis (except during maternity leave);
  3. Submit at least one thesis-related publication this year (preferably two);
  4. Finalize another never-ending project by a publication submission;
  5. Kick ass as a committee member for one of my favorite conferences (this is one of the best networking opportunities!)
Happy 2010, everyone!

Happy 2010! I'm sure others (who have actually had kids!) can actually speak to this, but I know my colleagues have told me that maternity leave enabled them to take care of their family at the most important time, allowing them to be far more productive upon return to work. Enjoy! :)

Happy 2010! An ambitious list but you will do fine!

Word verification is subatom. Cool!

SM - thanks!

UR - I do think I will appreciate my employer even more for being accommodating, so I just need to tell myself to not feel like a slacker for taking the time off when my family needs me most. It may become easier to not feel guilty once I have a little one demanding my attention, though :)

Cath - Thanks! (Off to modeling those subatoms ;)
