Oddly, for the first time in my life I am considering getting a Barbie, just in case my little one would like one later on! I may not be a blond model type myself, but I could totally rock that shirt (and hope they make some in real-people sizes!). It would be pretty awesome to some day explain to my daughter that Barbie works with computers and does problem solving, just like Mommy. And hey, I can live with that!

Figure 1: The Computer Engineer Barbie. Love the shirt and accessories, but what's with the tights?

A pink laptop? I don't know... but maybe otherwise it wouldn't be Barbie enough.
Cute :))
I wonder if there is a Pharmacist Barbie or a Scientist Barbie with a white lab coat!
And my laptop is pink by the way!
It is a step forward . . . did you see the articles about how this barbie has smaller boobs than other barbies?
Amelie - I'll take a pink laptop any day, as long as it is as fast as the boring black/white/silver ones :)
Neuropharma - I wonder if there is a lost of what Barbie used to be in the past; I would suspect there would have had to be a Pharmacist or a Doctor at some point (not sure about a Scientist though...)
Jennie - no, I must admit, I am reading less online these days, so I have not seen that. Not quite sure what to think about the concept - on one hand, a more realistic body type is a good thing, and on another, does it mean a woman can't have boobs and a brain at the same time? I'll have to go read what the peeps are saying.
