I am at my first conference of the year, practicing a talk I am giving first thing tomorrow morning (did you realize that I haven't given a talk in almost a year? No? Me neither! (cue in panic attack)) and working on my elevator speech for my poster. Also in my hotel room:
- Hubby, practicing for his own talk later this week;
- An 8-month-old, refusing to sleep, possibly teething, and threatening to learn how to crawl right here, right now;
- One freaked out MIL (she is not used to leaving her house much, yet has been recruited to babysit while Hubby and I are running around with our heads cut off);
- One frantically typing FIL (he is just here for moral support, planning to work from the hotel all week).
We left our home at 3am this morning, and I have already had several sessions to attend. I am on the committee for this conference, my technical schedule is jam-packed, there is quite a number of people I only get to see at this conference so I somehow need to schedule all these meetings in, and did I mention that this conference lasts all week with a gazillion evening activities? (Hubby and I agreed to alternate the evenings we will spend on work activities.) Did I also mention that I am still pumping and therefore toting around pump/ice/bottles and skipping out to go pump in the bathrooms? (Yay!)
Yeah. Not sure how we are going to survive this one.

Amazing! That sounds very intense. Enjoy it as much as you can, and good luck!

Impressive! And great that your ILs are available!
wow. you're amazing and strong and organized. you rock.
You sound like Wonderwoman.
Can distill some of said wonder into powder form? Because I need to sprinkle some of that shit into my coffee or something.
i second what hermitage said!
I'm still in my 2nd week with the Monkey and can't imagine doing all you're talking about without him around. I am thoroughly impressed. :)
Just think how much easier normal weeks will seem in comparison from now on :)
EGF - thanks, I did enjoy the conference despite the constant running!
Fia - thanks! My ILs live a (long) driving distance from the conference location, which made it possible.
SM - thanks! Not sure I would claim to be 'organized,' right now I am just thankful Dovie can't crawl and hurt herself in the mess we have made since arriving home ;)
Hermitage - don't they already sell adrenaline? Because that is all I am running on these days.
Quiet - I guess you might need a prescription ;)
MicroDrO - has it been 2 weeks already? And I still have not managed to congratulate you properly on your blog! So happy for you!
Cath - we are back, and I am even blogging - I guess this really is a piece of cake in comparison ;)
