Running for my sanity

Those of you who have been around these parts for awhile might know that I have a bit of a running habit addiction. Running is what I do for my body and my sanity.

Running has been difficult these past few months as sleep seems to take precedence over anything else. Yet my body begged me to get back to it, so I signed up for my first post-baby half-marathon. And, I did it! Way slower than pre-pregnancy, and with far more soreness to deal with afterward (not enough preparation - booo!), but I finished!

Now that the weather is cooler, I hope to really get back into running as it won't be too hot in the afternoon on the weekends (giving me mornings to sleep in if I am exhausted), and Dovie is now big enough to come along in a jogging stroller! So, if you see me coming down the street, you might want to get out of my way ;)

As a running addict, any times for a not-at-all-but-slowly-trying-to-become runner?

Wow! You're amazing. I can't begin to imagine. Granted, I'm not much of a runner, but still. I have nothing but the highest respect for anyone who runs like that, let alone with a baby!! I hope everything is alright with you, your hubby, and Dovie.

I've been getting back to the gym @ 3 days a week. I can tell on the days I work out that I am about to drop at 6:00, which of course is nowhere near the end of the day. It feels like I've literally used up every last ounce of energy I have.
I'm totally impressed you have your shit together enough to run a 1/2 marathon. Kudos.

Congratulations! It must feel good to be able to do that. Hopefully I will see you the week after next!

EB - I magically made 10-minute miles, which is faster than I normally do these days, but waaay slower than I used to run. Some day, I hope to speed back up!

SM - thanks! I feel so behind in other things, had to brag about this one ;)

Makita - thanks, I like running partly because of instant gratification - 'look what I was just able to do!' And, our little family is managing while being in constant awe of its tiniest member!

Quiet - thanks! It's hard to get back into, but well worth it!

MXX - working out does take a lot of energy on the days I do it, but I feel like it gives me more energy overall - hopefully the same is true for you!

Rebecca - yes, it feels good to know that I can still run! And, we should make some plans to catch up and for you to meet Dovie! How much of your family will be around?
